We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to create a pathway for our exceptional professionals to be their most efficient, productive and effective through this growth period.

Job Description:
The Chief Operating Officer at USXA Southern California is a pivotal role, managing the firm’s day-to-day operations, facilitating its integration with the larger USXA platform and fulfilling our long-term strategies for growth. The COO leads the design and execution of USXA’s administrative, systems, finance, marketing and people operations. Additionally, the COO serves as a strategic advisor to the firm’s Shareholders and investors.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the professional services industry, preferably having worked their way up to an executive role. We believe this trajectory helps a person develop a unique mix of business and management expertise, plus proficiency with the practices, policies and procedures of our industry.
Objectives of this role:
- Collaborate with the Shareholders in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and business results
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for integration and growth, implementing firm-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning
- Oversee USXA’s operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and exceed organizational goals
What You Will Do:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including managing teams across various functions, to ensure USXA is operating efficiently and effectively
- Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the Shareholders
- Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement, ensuring initiatives deliver on return expectations
- Manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the firm achieves investor targets for growth and profitability
- Play a critical role in business development, including identifying new business opportunities, building partnerships and expanding USXA’s reach
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development and engagement
- Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee legal and compliance-related matters
- As this role evolves, manage direct reports who support organizational needs and business growth
- All other tasks as assigned
What You Will Bring:
- Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles
- Strong operational expertise across various functions, including finance, marketing, HR and operations
- Ability to think strategically and diagnose problems quickly
- A proven track record of developing and implementing business strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives
- Excellent leadership skills, with a positive attitude to foster a healthy firm culture, steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- An entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building and growing businesses
- A deep understanding of accounting firm business models and/or experience working in an alternative practice structure is preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, accounting or similar relevant field; Master’s preferred
- Professional accreditation (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA) a plus
