Head of People Operations - National Luxury Retailer - $150k - $175k + equity and strong benefits

The Role:
The Head of People Operations is integral to supporting the expanding team by maintaining HR protocols for retail employees, ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations, and fostering a balanced approach to legal risk management and employee performance. You will work with leaders and managers to address employee relations, enhance leadership capabilities, provide training, and support performance, engagement, and career development efforts.
There will be a travel component to this role - as needed to the retail locations across the nation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of talent management strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
- Measure and analyze employee engagement, satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness, using data to drive decisions.
- Act as a key advisor on employee relations, resolving issues promptly and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Oversee the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, and development plans.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align People Operations strategies with business objectives.
- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment through proactive communication and conflict resolution.
- Continuously improve HR processes and systems to optimize efficiency and support organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state labor laws and regulations, by developing and maintaining up-to-date HR policies and practices.
- Partner with legal and HR teams to monitor changes in employment laws and implement necessary adjustments to ensure the organization remains compliant across all locations.
Requirements:
- 8+ years experience with a proven track record in People Operations leadership, with a focus on talent management, employee relations, and performance management.
- Experience in a fast-paced retail environment or similar dynamic industry, with a strong understanding of employee relations in multi-state settings.
- Strong background in using data and metrics to drive talent-related decisions.
- Exceptional leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
- Deep understanding of HR best practices, legal compliance, and risk management.
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Salary: $150k - $175k plus bonus and other benefits/perks
